Okay, so I gave in to the angle grinder of temptation.... Took out that shit-ugly main gusset. Going to weld in some thick plate between the headtube and downtubes and then stick in a bar from the toptube to the headtube - a la triumph / harley frame styles (dummied with a crappy bit of grey stuff in the picture). This should look a dam site prettier and also double as a replacement head stabilizer bar for the motor to bolt up to... I hope.
